Thanks Gato, I understand about low compression and boost with Super or Turbo Chargers, I am running an S&S 124cu/in Aniversary, it came with antiknock electronics, so in thery I can run whatever fuel comes out of the pump, BUT I notice the large performance dropoff when Premium fuel is not available.
That is the same with thing you do if your running NOS!!!
well my bro donald sold me the pistons and that is what was with them he had planned the same project but decided to wait and he almost give me the pistons and ring... I did pay him something but really a fraction of what it would cost me retail.... fuel ping issues and an increased power are reas0n why I would choose the low compression.,...
i read this online and is a nice quote maybe....
"in a nutshell, our engines with higher compression will never see high boost in a turbo. Without going into dynamics which some of it I won't even understand, the lower the compression, the more boost you can run. The higher the compression, the less boost. We all know 30psi is more fun than 5psi."
"Another way to explain it is, higher compression generates more power with smaller displacement up to a point. But higher compression also causes detonation, or "knock", requiring more anti-knock additive and higher octane fuel."
This comming new year i am going into the transmission and putting a kickstart kit on my 5 speed tranny....also planned is a new Andrews EV47 Cam and some adjustable pushrods...
